I'm so boring, I know. But listen... You know my boyfriend Mark? The uber-cute-non-mustache growin' one? Well I haven't told you guys this yet, but he's ditching me for the sunny state of California on the 13th. Yep, that's THIS Wednesday. So not only have I been busy Matilda Jane style, but I've been trying to spend as much time with that little man as possible! He's not leaving me for good, so ya'll don't need to start lighting sticks and grabbing pitch forks or nothin' (even though I'd like to do that)! He's just going to California for his second semester of school. At Humboldt University. Or something like that. I should probably know, but I don't like talking about it so much :) The only good thing about this whole situation (do any of you guys watch Jersey Shore? I saw it for the first time the other day.."the situation" and "snookie" and all of them are nutz!) is that on his Spring Break I am going to visit him! Which is awesome because I've never been to California! And what girl hasn't dreamt about going to California their whole lives?! Really though, Long story short...I bet you guys anything I'll be blogging a lot more in the next 5 months...

Making it big time

Okay, so Chris brought this to my attention the other morning and I've been spreading it around like crazy!

I think you know you've officially hit it big time when you've got your dress on a Taco Bell cup, so congratulations Matilda Jane!

Now the question is...Who is the lucky little lady wearing the knot dress? If you know the answer I'll hook you up with some MJC. One guess per person please! And make it count!

Oh, how romantic..

Alright, so hands down you all have the most romantic hubbies around. I swear like 3/4 of the comments were from the luckiest women around, if you ask me. And you should because I am such a romantic. It's ridiculous actually. It's hard for me to describe. When I love something/someone, I LOVE them. I mean, I get the chills..I cry..I laugh.. In all the most inappropriate times. Ask anyone around 435, I'm just the most emotional girl in town. Two things that get me every time? When I put Harry Potter or the OC on (Do you remember The OC!?! Best show ever). Like it's almost instantaneous. I get the chills and the sobbing begins...

LONG STORY SHORTENED...I really enjoyed hearing about the romantic gestures your boyfriends/husbands did to win your heart. I wish I could have chosen all of them to win a little MJC because I was either tearing up while reading them or laughing (literally out loud). So since I couldn't choose, I just let my mouse do the decidin'! Jamie Hicks, Mary, Should I take it personally?, and ZEB's Mom should all email me at samm@matildajaneclothing.com for a little MJC surprise.

As you may know..

Denise and Lynette are off on big business right now. I mean BIG business. This is the Spring '10 and Fall '10 line we're talking about here. You guys should be so excited. Seriously. If you thought you liked Hotline or Gypsy Blue 1&2, you are going to be doing flips for this Spring!! And I haven't seen the designs for the Fall yet, but the fabrics are seriously amazing. My favorite I've seen yet.

So it's Christmas time... And I have gotten basically zero of my shopping done. Well, I've got Mark's present. So that's not zero, but it feels like it is! Because I knew straight off what I was getting him and I have my ladies to buy for still! And that requires actual work. I think I'll be hitting up some thrift stores and Joann's Fabric after work today. Yep, it's settled. I'm gonna have to. I seriously love shopping for people though. I'm better at buying gifts for other people than I am for myself. No joke. But just as I am great at shopping for friends, I am the worst person for my friends to shop for. That's just how it goes I guess? Speaking of giving and receiving presents... Why don't ya'll tell me the best, most sincere, most interesting, or just plain funniest gift you've ever given or received? And I'll hook up the winners with a little Christmas Joy in the form of some MJC! And as usual, lets do one or two guesses per person.. 

Mark (the boyfriend) is incapable of growing facial hair, but you have no idea how badly he wants a mustache, a beard, anything! I think that's how it usually works with most everything though. When you don't want one ya got one and when ya want one ya don't. Well, regardless..I thought it'd be a good idea to see how he'd look with some face hair...

He's such a dork. With or without a mustache.

Oh! And that's my bathroom. Not much of a sneak peek though, is it? So here's my Christmas tree...

(Those curtains look familiar? Well that would be because I might have taken the fabric from 435 and made them myself!) There aren't many presents under there yet as you can see... Hence Sam McDonald needs to do some shopping tonight.

I've got a million plans in my head to write an outstanding blog...but I don't think today is the day because I don't even have my camera here (at 435) to upload any photos or nothin'! So as long as you guys can be patient, I will try my best not to disappoint you when the time comes!

Ok, so Denise let me pick and send the Turkey Day prizes. I sent out about 20? Give or take one or two. I was so impressed by how many emails I got and I feel good about the families that were chosen. Keep in mind, the majority WERE random but I mean, I DID read the emails so there were most definitely some exceptions. Denise and I have received the most wonderful "thank you's" from the people that submitted names and also the receivers of the packages! I just wanna tell you how great it felt to be a part of that give away-to be a part of MJC- when I was sending out the gifts. I'm so proud of Matilda Jane. And I'm so thankful that you guys sent me so many emails and helped to give me the opportunity to "spread the love."  That's what the Holidays are all about, right?

Anyway, like I said, I do feel bad for holding out on you guys about my apartment and all the other things going on around here.. I'm gonna make it up to you next time though! Mark my words!

hello again..

Let's not even talk about my nearly 2 month break, ok? Let's just push it under the rug and keep it there..

Okay, let's see! I read all the dreams..a couple times actually..since I've had so much time you know (it's still under the rug, right?!).. So let's hear it for Lori Danielle, Karen Vavrick, Jen G, Mom2lilrose, Karen S, and Kari D. ALL of your dreams were from every end of the spectrum a dream could be from! I mean, one second I'll be tearing up because I'm reading about the most vivid encounters of loved ones that have passed away, and the next I'm reading about a husband chasing turtle (by the way, I'm afraid of turtles so I totally understand this dream..). They were great to read and I'm so happy you all shared them with me!

So now I'm actually at 435 writing this so that means I have no pictures.. But I DO have exciting news! Okay hold on to your seats... But within in the short time since my last blog (kinda short amount of time...) I have gotten something close to the swine flu, gotten OVER something close to the swine flu, and got my own place!!! The last part is OBVIOUSLY the most exciting. I cannot wait to show you guys. It's in a historical building in downtown Fort Wayne. It's not so big - it's a studio apt - but it's perfect! This past friday was our two week anniversary on signing the lease :) So in two weeks I've gotten a couch, a bed (THANK YOU SARA SPITLER!!), the cutest owl door mat (THANK YOU CHRIS, BECKY, AND SARA!!!) and a million groceries. Not to mention, I already painted the main room! Which is the living room and the kitchen! A pukey-avocado green and a fleshy peach. Ha, I know it sounds REALLY attractive right!>? But it's soooo cute together. I swear. I'll hook you up with pictures soon, soon, soon!

Oh, and with all the couch buying and the walling painting, I have yet to get the internet! Hence the reason I am blogging at work.. Which I actually feel bad doing, but I have a feeling Denise will understand..

Gosh I can't wait to show you guys. I really can't. I'm probably talking it up too much, but I'm just that excited. All I think about is my apartment (shelves, owl nick-nacks, towels, crackle paint finishes, coffee cups, etc..) or food (Louisiana sirloin from O'Charleys- a seriously good steak, I know, I was surprised too!).

So I am looking at my Confessions of an MJC packer Header and I do not even have most of the visible bracelets anymore.. Only because they have broken, and have been replaced with new ones. I sure do need a new header. Wish I knew how to make one...

ANYWAY, this is gonna be short, but sweet. Oh so sweet. I want you to tell me the most wild, vivid, or just plain wonderful dream you have ever had. Or at least that you remember. And NO MAKING IT UP. I, obviously, will not be able to tell if you are...but come on guys, lets be fair! I will read them all and will pick a few for an MJC prize!

So lets hear it. But for real, I work for a childrens clothing company so lets keep it PG please. No Fabio dreams and what not :)

I don't know how many more shipments I can take at 435. I think we might be on number 7? 8 perhaps? It is sooo exhausting, let me tell you! Each shipment ranges from like 30 to 150 boxes! HEAVY boxes. All full of the beautiful Gypsy Blue and, of course now, Gypsy Blue 2! Those are definitely the only reasons that make it REAL worth while... I am only ranting about this because today at 3:something we got ANOTHER one! 76 boxes. 76 big, heavy, dusty boxes. I cut my finger opening them TWICE! And yesterday I cut my finger with scissors. Ay yi yiii.. I told you that all my posts wouldn't be filled with sunshine! I guess that's not entirely true because look at these beauties...

 

How can anyone complain when you get sent pictures like these?! I love seeing all the art fair pieces, reminds me of this summer...which feels really far away since it's only been getting colder and colder this week.

My last complaint of this post is tagging. Tagging, Tagging, Tagging. You know those cute Gypsy Blue tags that hang from your brown tissue paper wrapped packages?! Well all of us at MJC have been taking those home to tag...and I think I am getting arthritis. No, not really I guess.. And they are worth it because anything as cute as that tag is worth a little arthritis. I just hope ya'll are diggin' them like we do.

I'm sorry, I really am! If I brought anyone down, I promise to bring you up ASAP...like tomorrow...with a contest!

I'M BACK. truly, i am. How many times have I said that? Now THAT should be a blog prize, right?! But it's not going to be so don't go counting and commenting just yet! PACKING, PACKING, PACKING, CUTTING?!

That's right ladies n' gents, I have officially been cutting this week. As much as I enjoyed working with the ladies in the packing room (even though they love to tease me about how much I enjoy cutting), I was so excited when Denise told me I was going to get in a full day of cutting, and then ANOTHER full day of cutting! Does anyone here know what that means?! Well, if you don't know you're just gonna have to figure it out yourself. I'm just saying I'd be clicking on that little MJC Platinum button at the bottom right hand corner of the Matildajaneclothing.com site pretty dang soon..

I basically just told you even though I said I wasn't going to. I'm such a softy.

Can I just tell you how much I have loved receiving emails and pictures from you folk?! I've always enjoyed reading Denise's blog-checking your comments and looking at the adorable pictures, but it's even better to hear from you all myself! And you all are making my blog a lot prettier too, I might add. So what I'm trying to say here is, keep up the good work!! And I'll keep doing the best I can to keep up with you :)

Well, maybe I'm not doing THE BEST I can...but I promise Matilda Jane has been part of the reason! I have been working A LOT of overtime...or at least a lot for me! I am not complaining though. I have definitely enjoyed it, and everyone knows it'll pay off in the end :)

It's a quarter till 10:00PM and that means it's time for me to prepare for bed. I've been working on my hygiene recently so my bed time regimen is much longer than it use to be. Before all I would do was consider brushing my teeth (terrible, I know..don't let your little girls read that!!!) and MAYBE do it and then plop down in bed and pass out. BUT NOW, no no, NOW, I brush my teeth for a good 2-3 minutes, I wash my face, put TWO kinds of face lotions on, and then plop down in bed and pass out :) Gosh I know none of you care about this, but it is a big deal for those that know me! Not that I am a gross, smelly girl or anything!! But Sara has been known to call me a dirty bird.. So on that completely unnecessary note, good night and I'll be talking to you tomorrow.

what a good day.

when i woke up this morning, i knew it was going to be a good day. do you know WHY i knew it was going to be a good day?! i probably should make the answer a blog prize, but i'm just gonna tell you...today, september 1st, marks my first full year of working at MJC! isn't that just nutz? i bet most of you didn't even know i existed until around 4 months ago when i started this blog! so when i woke up and got dressed (i EVEN wore a dress today!), i knew i would be quietly (and sometimes, not so quietly) celebrating my MJC anniversary. now...little did i know that when i woke up today would bring so much more to celebrate!

way to blow my big day outta the water, sara! here i thought i was experiencing something special and then she goes and has a baby. a beautiful, healthy baby boy. really though, i'm happy to share my anniversary with him. honest engines i am :) i visited sara as soon as i got off work. well, as soon as i made a detour to walmart to get a card...and then as soon as i made a detour all the way to auburn because i missed the dupont exit (out of excitement, no doubt). almost as soon as i got there sara let me hold him. boy was i nervous. i don't think i've ever held a newborn, at least not one that i can remember...which doesn't sound like a good sign. but i think i did good. at least when i left he was still cooing and making bubbles with his spit. as nice as it was to meet oliver, it was soo nice to see sara. it feels weird not seeing her, like, everyday. i do not wanna get used to it, guys!!

on ANOTHER exciting, but not as exciting as oliver, note. today....
WE GOT OUR FRIDGE.
fancy, eh? we thought so. the anticipation for this fridge has been nutz. it truly is the small (i guess not SO small, but kinda small) things in life that make us smile (like oliver!). all of us at MJC have to thank our Beck-the-bride-Pence for it though, because she was the only one willing to sign miss denise's contract she so lovingly came up with in order to agree to this purchase..

alright, so the only way i can think to end this great day would be by having a BLOG CONTEST wooooo. yep. everything is exciting today. this is gonna be such a tricky one too. and i don't want more than 1 or 2 guesses per person PLEASE, just to be fair you know..
