January 2008

January 29, 2008

I am not supposed to post till Thursdy but I had to note that we had phone problems yesterday at the office so if you tried to call sorry. And yes, I paid my bill. I think we just have the Verizon curse at the office. The internet is still not working so we have been doing everything manually. SUCKS TO BE US.

Also, we are out of Oh, Opal in size 2 and 4. We have some 6's left but that is it. I had no idea so many of you were calling in, and what a sucky day for the phone to be whacko.

Okay, off to work before I get fired

January 27, 2008

Please stay Tuned

I need to really think about getting some serious work done so I can stop teasing you all and get this darn Spring Line tied up.  My head is spinning and I need to stop and focus. I keep wanting to add pieces. WHEW, stop, focus execute. Oh, wouldn't a MJC doll be incrediable? See I can't stop. I want to make so many darn things, but first I have to finish what I started.

Until then, you can look at my wonderful family and the gap between my teeth. I lost my retainer at McDonald's back in high school and you know how that goes.  Plus, my hair is so darn short, I keep it back just to fool folk into thinking we have 4 boys in the family!

Okay, here's to my gap and to getting all my work done so I can blog after LOST on Thurday. Oh, I can hardly stand it, why am I so in love with those boys. Charlie....I will miss you. Oh, and Walt where are you.  And geesh, why can't I just look like Kate? She has big teeth, too.... it is a start.

Check out Joe giving the Beast a thumbs up. He has worn a tie since he was 3. He wears it with a tank top, with a tee shirt and without a shirt.  That is my boy.

Thank you Betsy. I love you.

See ya Thursday. Here's to hoping we have internet at the workshop tomorrow. And here's to me responding to all my week late emails.  I'm on it....relax. Oh,a dn John Locke, I do miss you, oh, wise one.  I'm not sure though, I kinda think Obi Wan is better looking and a bit more wise.

January 26, 2008

Whew.. that lost post was a complete blur. What I meant to say was that I have plenty of the Oh, Opal top left in 4 and 6, very few 2's. I have some pants in 2's and 6's and maybe ( maybe) a  4.  If you do indeed want one, call us Monday at the office 260.745.1607 and we'll get it out to you.

Next, OMG! What was that on bottom of my page? Those links were unreal, emberassing, funny and just plain 'ol crazy.  I bet some of thought  had lost my mind.

Chris and I just got back form Chicago. We had to skip out a bit early so i could work on the new site and help out with the boys so David could get the taxes done.

I just have to say super quickly, MJC has the cutest TK's ever.  Not only are they cute, but they have the sweetest peronalites and they are all so, well, such individuals.   Wow, i am just amazed with all of them and in love with them all.

I have some serious work to do, but  I had to apologize for the crazy post and the obnoxious links?

Lastly, the season open Feb 15. And here's a little Vday card, MJC style. Thanks Amber.

Oh Opal

Breathe.... I am never gonna get out of this house.. BUT  so many of you want that Oh Opal shown below....and I haven't had time to respond.

We'll be in the office Monday. 260.745.1607 give us a call and we'll ship it out.

We do not have a lot of pants, just tops, tops are $34, bottoms are $34.

Okay have to go....

January 23, 2008

Oh, Amanda , once again you amaze me!  She was so sweet to ask me if I would be upset by them.  I admit I was nervous when she said that.  OMG, it was love at first sight.  I guess that there is some "trash the dress'  trend in wedding photography. Hmm. I am not that in tune, but if they look anything like these pics, I'm game.

Take a look . Be sure to note that this was one of my favorite pieces that I sold next to none of.  I still have probably about 60 tops in the storeroom.  But all the pants are gone. See, sometimes I strike out.  And then we have gals like Amanda who revive the beauty of Oh, Opal. I can't pic which one, so have them all.

OKay, now I must really get back to work. We have out first sales meeting this weekend in Chicago. It is so weird to me and awesome at the same time.  Problem is, I get way to nervous around people. For real, you know nervosa tongue, who knows what I will say. But I promised the girls at the office I would stand tall and be professional. No swearing.

Shoot, I forgot one of my faves. I am telling you, you photographers (and I am not kissing ass)  are so intriguing to me.   You all use the same equipment, or close, and somehow the pictures are so different. I love it.  I am completely envious.

OMG, we get to go see Matt, Paige, Suzanne and crew at OLG to see some new paper goods. I hate going there. I seriously get a stomache ache. I can hardly handle all the creative energy and talent that oozes out of that joint.

Now I am about to go on a rant about talented people. I will stop now.  I get so upset when I see a talent wasted.   Bacl to work. David is stillup preparing for Lost Premiere. You can watch a synopsis on ABC.com . It is a short version. I just heard the narrator say  "And Mr. Friendly throws like a girl"  Whew, good thing they don't leave out any important details.

Happy 2nd Birthday to our King of Beasts. Now back to getting ready for the Sales Meeting, hence the store bought cake. He'll never remember, eh?

January 22, 2008

I am telling you today is nuts. Our computer crashed at the office, our internet was cancelled by error, my "Next Days" still have not arrived.

Now Heath Ledger? Oh my, I  cant handle it anymore. Oh, I do love him. He is so beautiful in The Patriot and I could've married him in 10 Things I Hate about You. And gosh darn it, he named his daughter Matilda. See I'm not just a whiny fool, we had a connection.

Leave it to Betsy  to come and save the day. Talk about a beautiful person. I am stealing these pics off her blog. Don't bother turning me in,. I asked kindly.

She was at the workshop yesterday fooling around before she took our family pics. Poor her,. the boys are so darn cute, and well, David and I, we are okay, just not all that photogenic.   We'll test her magic in a bit.

If you look close enough you may find a few Home Grown pieces.

The sweet Sarah always has the cutest shoes and string on her pants!!!

Meet "crack head". We keep her far away from us, she came to us with a crack in her head and still looking for a loving home. All the girls tease her.

Word to the Wise: This apron only gets cuter.

January 21, 2008

I could blame it on Kay for the peer pressure, or Jami for the McDonald's gift card, or the Beast for being the beast, or Peru for their slow custom procedures or just me for the lack of self control? I fess up, I'm back to the Coke habit.  It sucks and I have gained about 5 lbs, no lie. Why can't I be stress anorexic instead of stress fat?

The season is just about ready to open and the last minute crunch has begun. David is busily trying to organize taxes. This means organizing how we are going to eat for the next month. In about a few weeks, you will all love him for something else, a new website. I can hardly wait.

Oh, by the way, I deleted all my emails from the past 2 weeks so if I skipped you, sorry! Try again please.  We'll blame that on the lovely Jennifer for she's been updating our mailing list. Yes, I am completely joking, Jen.  She is amazing. I  love to blame eveyone else, for I make no mistakes.  And that, my friend, is the truth.

One more thing till I really need to get back to work. Thanks so much for all the nice comments.  You know, in truth, I am just stubborn.  I just do what I love or else screw it. Ah, that sounds bad.  But for real, I am just completely honest, well, and stubborn, and a few other choice words I am sure!!!

Thank you t the wonderful and talent Michelle for the great pics? You know I always wonder if photographers get pissed when we call them pics instead of photographs?

Oops, I shipped you the wrong size? Oh, that must've been Chris!

January 20, 2008

Hello  to my darling little chicks. It's late and this darn computer sucks.  I swear the moment I master something, it shuts down.  Dude, never buy a Dell. David is on the other computer and he has no problems. Well, except for the problem he is doing grades and I am constantly asking for help. *if you received an odd email from me, it was in error. I sent out like 200 bulk mailings, oops.

We went down to Miami of Ohio for a hockey game. I love that place. The campus is amazing, great shoppes, well, maybe a bit preppy for me, and the  Miami fans were rockin'.  It ticks me off. All the way home I could not stop talking about them. I swear they showed up an hour before the game and stood most of the game. Talk about showing the love.

It was an away game, so we had a mere 20 fans at most. But come' on, support is important. I don't even think our home games get much attendance for the student body. It sucks. Ya, well, just wait till they the cool tees they are getting in a couple weeks, then they'll be knocking down the doors. I guess it just ticks me off, wehn someone poors their heart out, blood and sweat and no one is there to admire that. I told David we were moving up to the Soo to start a Fan Club.  Just what they want, a mother of 2 showing them how to act their age and have some fun. But for real, they are pretty boring.

So what I am getting to is a huge thank you.  When I started MJC Trunk shows I was told I would not even be a blimp on the radar from some foolish man.  Oh, that is just what I needed to fuel the fire.  And when things get sucky, I get fustrated and you know, well, I always remember all the great emails and comments I get. I know I have to step up to the plate. We've got girls out there that need some MJC. No dwelling in my sorrows, girls must be cute.

And seriously, when you see the complete Spring line, thank yourself.  You'll love it and I loved going back to my home grown roots and doing what I love, making you guys smile. And most of all, making your little one the just a wee bit more colorful. But do thank yourself. You guys pushed me to the next level.  I worked hard to try to kick it up a notch to impress you all. For real. You'll see very soon.

I'll try to make something exciting happen tomorrow so I can stop these "heartfelt" posts.

January 17, 2008

What a wonderful day. It is just past midnight and I have cookies in the oven AGAIN, a Dt. Coke on my side ( that my neighbor Chris delivered in her bathrobe at 10:30pm) and the smell of fresh lemons in my house. Yup. I got the most unbelievable package today.  I cannot even begin to tell you how giddy we were at the office about this.

The note reads " in the spirit of Home Grown, I am sending you some of my home grown lemons picked from my very own backyard. Just as I have never seen anything in like MJC in the Southwest, I bet you have never seen a lemon like this in the Midwest." And yes, because I am superficial, may I add, even the notecard was fantastic. She even sent her Grandma's Lemon bar recipe. Whew, she has totally raised the bar! I thought I was good.

Picture_029

Aren't they huge? And those leaves, they are real. I bit one to make sure. I have never seen a lemon leaf. My poor sheltered life.

I am getting so excited for the Spring Line. It is so huge, we have the best adult dress. Just you wait. Did you know I even did a sweatshirt? Yup, sure did.  I am telling you there a tons of pieces, that is why I am broke. And guess what, I'll spread the love and soon you can be broke.

Those darn infomercials has Joe wanting this cell phone. He tells me everyday, it is only 10bucks and he has 10.08.  Can he get it? I told him he should try lay-away  and get an i-pod.  I remember being in 5th grade and going to Kmart and putting a set of 3 pics ( they were those brass frames, that they split the pic up in 3) on lay-away. I wanted those pics so bad for my bedroom and my mom said no.

Damn it, why are these cookies so fricken' fluffy? Arghh. This sucks.

Okay, I have got to get this figured out. I'll tell you about the nice man I met at Kroger Sunday. We are off to see the Lakers play at Miami of Ohio.  Oh, how I love Oxford. It is the sweetest little town.

And for your patience.... and yes, we have lots of other things in the collection aside form knot dresses. They were just the first to be shot! Thanks Shannon
