Practice makes Perfection

Meet Betsy. She is probably gonna kill me but she is gorgeous so she cannot hide. Above all, she is amazingly gifted. Not only is she a great photgrapher but she may not know this, she is a great communicator. Yup, remember my goal is to take a decent enough pic by Fall so David and I can do our hockey blog. Ya, we are lame, but we are cute. And look here, one of my very first pics, actually, probably number 10 or 11. We met last night and she showed me so much. The most important being, if you want to take a pic of a person, it does not have to be on the lady icon. I really thought you had to use those darn icons for everything. Oh, Betsy, you are the wings beneath my wings!!!

Not bad huh? For real, I think I did good. She told me about a cool lense and I went and got it today.  I just need to learn the basics. One step at a time.

Now check out one of my favorites little chick-a-dees. Jenni sent them my way. We love Jenni. I can proudly say she was one of our first phone calls when we opened last season. It was so cool to have a real phone line.  Ya, we thought we were pretty hot stuff. Thought is the key word there.

Isn't she sweet? Okay, well the Beast still has gooey eye sydrome. The Dr said he had pink eye, I say she is nuts. How do you have pink eye in 2 eyes since December? We'll see.

And what is up with Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise? And why is she so darn cute?

April

Thank you to the wonderful April Todd for the sweet pic.

I actually did something I have not done in at least 5 years this weekend. I laid on the couch and watched TV for an hour. It was so fun. I kept telling David,"wow, this is so fun".

I also realized Tinkerbell is it. We were playing Disney's "Scene It", and OMG, I look just like Tinkerbell, have you ever noticed her thighs?

Tinkerbellpixie1

I have the exact same figure. For real. And lastly, there is a dove right out my window sitting upon her nest, for days. It is so sweet, her husband, well maybe boyfriend, brings her food so she does not have to leave.

Oh, how is MJC? It's good. Our shipping is getting a bit faster and the last of the mother load of shipments should be on flight to US today. So all the remaining backorders should leave by Mon-Tue. Cross my fingers.

And have yourself a great week. I have so many pics to post. As soon as I get a second I'll show them off.

April 24, 2008

Well, hello out there. Oh, it's LOST tonite, the clock is ticken' down. What a perfect way to end a day, a gooey eye day. The poor Beast has the gooeyest (sp) eyes, do you think it is just a Beast thing? When I met Kathy to get him I was so sad for him. He could barely open his eyes.  Poor gabe, he probably felt like the ants that have "no eyes, mamma". I am feeling this is just a sick month for all.

They have been shipping out backorders like crazy. OMG, I have never seen so many mailing bags. Have I told you lately that I hate backorders?

I'm a bit of a bore right now but I did get my eyebrows done tonite so at least I look cute typing. Well, kinda. BUt I am sure you'd much rather see something than my red eyes so check out the sweet pics from Marci. Candy

Can I just tell you how many of the "band" tanks we sold. Oh, my word. Let's just hope you like the fall coat that much. Yes, I said you, not your daughter. You get one too.

Back to processing shows. We are in "Operation Bust a Move" over here.

Eye Candy

One of my favorite things to do is google. I love to google and I love photgraphers. They intrigue me simply because (I may be wrong, but I think) they all use basically a camera yet the the outcome is so different. It is so like Picasso vs. Pollack. Someday, I will get there. Don't forget, this is my summer to learn how to use a camera. Yup, my goal is to take some cool Laker Hockey pics. Funny huh? And poor you, you can see them all next Fall.  I know you are excited about that one.

Okay, so I love to google and I came across Leigh Wilcoxson . Isn't she fantastic. And those darn red shoes are my favorite, not to mention that cute little face. Just lookie here.

I have been getting a lot of response to my previous posts. I, in no way, was trying to offend anyone. I do care, I do read the emails, and I do act upon them.

If I could explain it all in a post, I would. It is much to lengthy.  Matilda Jane has grown so big so fast that we were forced to seek out new production for the Spring season. In doing this, we had many fabric delays and complications. We started the season 2 weeks late fully knowing the ship time of an order would be 4 weeks. We knew orders would go out and contain backorders. We could have either started the season Feb 15 or  mid-March when most of the shipment arrived. We choose Feb 15 and agreed all customers would be told there is a 4 week ship time and many orders would have backorders until the full shipment got in. I apologize for those of you who were not told this.

If you have been waiting over the 4 week ship time for your order, not your backorder, please call your trunk keeper and she will let you know where your order stands. For those of you with backorders, we will be fulfilling many of those early this week pending our shipment arrives on time.  We have sold out of many things, had to re-order many times and in some cases just mark an item sold out. If I had some way of knowing this would have happened I would've done whatever I could to prevent it.

Once again, I do apologize for the mis-communication. Please, when you email me, leave a returnable email or number so I can get in touch with you.

I almost forgot. On weekends, Chris and I will go and ship some shows to try to get to get caught up a bit. For those of you who know Chris, you know she is amazing. She has the contaigeous (my spellig sucks) laugh and a great eye for color. Well, we were chatting about the new Gretta Spice skirt, yes we do talk about other things too. But she said, OMG you should put the coral stripe  Lola legging with that skirt. Yup, perfect. Man she is good, then we continued to argue about Fresh Prince of Bellaire. I really did not know Will Smith sang that song.  So look, the 2 of these would be dynamite, and no, not Will Smith.

So David and I decided to take the boys to Disney. Joe has a Dr. appt in May and we thought, hey, let's bring the Beast and hop on a plane after the appt. Oh, they will be so surprised and so will everyone else on the plane when they hear Gabe's screech. Then, I saw these photo's from Kim. It took me about a month to realize Kim was unscripted moments. Her song on her blog is so good and catchy and her photo's amazing. I love this shot, and sorry it is of the sold out Gretta, but her little one is just too cute to hide.

Aaa

and then a few weeks later I saw this, I about freaked cuz it was right after we decided to bring the babes!!! And Joe was so excited to see the pics of MJC at Disney., He thinks I'm cool, well , kind of.

Thanks for all the beautiful comments, I will try not to be such a sissy in the future. Thanks Kim for letting me borrow these.

Cop a Feel

At the gym, there is a sign that reads "Pain is the feeling of weakness as it's leaving the body."  Slowly, I am learning the truth of it.

After months of letting everything eat me up, I am done. I am done reading negative emails, listening to kids crying over nothiing, and everyone thinking they can do it better. Voila', it is done, deleted.

In all seriousness, I am more than aware of what goes on in my life and Matilda Jane. I know we are slow in shipping, we have backorders like there is no tomorrow, things are sold out, american airlines stopped 500 flights, Obama made a coment that got twisted and turned till it was no longer his comment.  I know it all, and I'm doing what I can. Really there is no need to remind me.

Yes, that one rain cloud that drowns all my pretty flowers might as well float away. Okay, so I don't sound like I am over it, but I am trying.  Putting my best foot foward, one step at a time and lots of encouragement from Chris and Lynette (and a bit of alcohol).

Now if Gabe could just understand I just mopped and there really is no need to bring in muddy footprints. Lovely. Have yourself a fabulous weekend and I'm off to mop AGAIN and head to the workshop.

A bit of silly sadness

The Beast kept covering his eyes, and in the saddest, whiniest voice would say "No eyes, mom." He said this about 20x, like I did not hear it the 1st, 2nd or the 10th.  All I could think about was, when you are 2 you worry about an ant and his eyes?  (Gabe was upset because he didn't think ants had eyes!!!)  And when you are 34 you worry about Isiah Thomas losing his job.

Little did you know, and of course how could you, but I cried when Isiah got engaged to Lynn Kendall. My sixth grade teacher called and broke the news to me.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  Oh, I loved him. I sent him notes and even invited him to my graduation. That was so long ago.

Call me crazy, but today when I found out he got fired, I was worried. I was sad cuz I knew he was sad. Then I thought, darn it, did he think about how sad I was when he stood me up at graduation?

Doesn't matter. I was still sad. Gabe was still upset. Tomorrow we wil offer Isiah a job at Matilda Jane, and we will go buy the ants some eyeballs. In the meantime, I will get my adult Look Book started.

And guess what not only did I change my header but I am working on the Look Book. Give me a few more hours and I can check it off my list.

Until then enjoy these ruffled diaper covers. There is nothing better than chubby legs on a baby.  And on me. Hey, I actually went to the gym and I was good. I did everything I was told. Then I came home and immediatey ate 3 packs of fruit snacks. Those should not be allowed in the house.

Okay, so how cute are her thighs? I love those chubby little knees. Love 'em.

I had the cutest visitor at the workshop this morning, Miss Lily. She strolls in with pigtails, "Oh Opal" pants and the casey+ellie halter top. My did she look adorable. And her voice was so darn sweet. We all went nuts over her. Her mom told us how you could wear the halter as a skirt. I admit I kind of thought it was a bit fruity. But if you own it, try it. It is a pretty cute little number.  Tie the straps in a bow in the front. Voila.  And if you do not own it, I hate being the bearer of bad news but it is sold out.

Burtsing the Bubble

I think the pics say it all.

Mjcbybetsy39 Mjcbybetsy44

Once again, thanks to our great Betsy. And do know I'm showing those pics of the Beast again, real soon. I stole his 5 minutes when I was fussing over nothing. Angie was funny when she said her mantra is "be better, not bitter" and I responded  with my Mantra "PUT A SPIN ON IT". If you are gonna knock someone off at least put your spin on it so it becomes yours. Afterall, we all do it, but it is that spin that makes it ours. And with that I will shut up and zip my mouth.

OMG so I called Evan, I used to work out with him back when I was skinny and actually had some muscles definition. Not sure what I was thinking, but I said "I'll be in in the morning". Now I am petrified Pete cuz I am so nervous. I am telling you I am the most self concious gal in town. My new mantra for this is, "You've gotta have fluff before you can get buff".

The saddest part of this entire post is, I am not even really sure what mantra means? I'm thinking it means your belief, it sounds kind of Zenish, eh?

More pics coming at you in a bit and I am fixeing my header tonite. And I so cannot get that song " Mr. roboto domo ali gato mr roboto" out of my mind. Nice spelling job, huh?
