It was a great weekend. Thank you so much to all of you for coming. We are in complete awe at how sweet everyone was. It is one thing to chat on the phone or via email but to meet in person just takes it to another level. Thank you so much.
You like the new sign? Loree Alayne just sent me over some great pics. Be sure to check out her blog for some more. They're so awesome.
Carla and her crew sent us over the most amazing, I mean amazing bouquet of flowers. The scent filled the room. I'm pretty much speechless about these. And all my lovelies at MJC and Anne got David and me the most beautiful painting in the planet. Just you wait.
There's a lot more pics to share but I need to get the boys in bed. So I'll save it for later. I wanted to take a minute to say thank you for all your support and kind words and for just being so wonderful. Thank you. You guys have totally made a dream of mine come to life.
And lastly for those of you who could not make it, be patient. We are trying to bring some good stuff to everyone soon. Very soon. It's just a matter of a few more photos and a click of a button, so think before you hit "buy it now". It's all good.
and I stole this from the One Lucky Guitar website. I just had to share. They make us seem so cool. And to think they know us in real life, and we are, for real, not this cool. Gosh, gotta love them guys..and gals.
26 Jun 09 / Matilda Jane Open House
Sometimes when we think back on our relationship with Matilda Jane Clothing Co., we feel like we got to see The Rollin' Stones at the Marquee Club in 1962. Because now, quite frankly, the company is selling out stadiums worldwide. The difference is, Matilda Jane's still got it!
Back in 2004, when we first met MJCC owner and designer Denise
DeMarchis, this little clothing line was something she did in her spare
time, in a spare room, and for a few dozen customers. But you could
tell that something very special was going on. We created Denise's
identity suite, including business cards and hangtags-work that took on
a life of its own, eventually being featured in the prestigious design
annuals from Print and HOW magazines, and in three
coffee-table book collections of business identities from around the
world (and effectively cementing OLG's reputation along the way). Since
then, Matilda Jane has exploded-with nearly 100 "trunk keepers" across
the country, 14 local employees and a new 6,000 square foot design
facility and warehouse (right around the corner from us in
"Bricktown"). We've put together the identities for three more product
lines for MJCC, as well as four brochures, event collateral, promo
pieces and even t-shirt design. For the 2009 catalog, Nate Utesch
introduced original illustration to the mix, and the layout took MJCC
to an even higher level-and the illustrations will even serve as a
fabric pattern for future clothing.
Anyway, you can
experience it all for yourself this weekend, when Matilda Jane Clothing
Co. hosts its first-ever open house and art fair, at 435 East
Brackenridge in downtown Fort Wayne. Doors are open on Saturday, June 27th, from 10AM-5PM, and Sunday, June 28th, from 10AM-2PM. People are flying in from around the country to be a part of this sale.

Checked your blog first thing after being away from computer since Sunday. You made my day with the idea that those who really wanted to come (anyone who had seen the beautiful items) and could not may have an opportunity to purchase. That really is great!!!
Looks and sounds like the Art Fair was much fun......next year I hope!!!
Happy Year to you!

Oh, please, please, please, make some of the 435 art fair items available to all of us so we don't have to pay the BIN prices! (not that they aren't worth it, I just want to stay married!) I am getting ready to purchase because I can't wait much longer for the cuteness!!!

I had such a great weekend. Thank you for allowing me to meet up with my 'friends', especially Lisa, who is as wonderful IRL as I imagined. I don't think I stopped smiling all weekend! You are all so gorgeous and am looking forward to seeing you all again next year!
Posted by: JackieF | June 29, 2009 at 05:46 PM
I was not able to attend the 435 Art Fair this year, but keep doing it because I have a year to plan the trip! I would love to see some things online so I don't have to pay crazy prices. My absolute favorite is the Doe/Deer Tank. It's absolutely precious. It reminds me of the first time my parents took me to a movie in 1975 (I was 5 years old)....BAMBI!
Posted by: Ramona | June 29, 2009 at 03:17 PM
I would love to see the 435 be available for online purchase! The pics you have shared are amazing! Thank you. I will refrain from hitting the rediculous BIN button and remain patient. I am hoping you have plenty of size 2's left. Thanks again!

I love seeing all of the pictures from the art fair. It's so nice of you to try and make your stuff available for everyone.
I didn't get to go to 435 but I did have someone pick up a couple of things for me.
Posted by: tymberella | June 29, 2009 at 06:57 AM
Happy, Happy Birthday!
I can't tell you how sad it was to see all of the stuff come up on that large auction site even before shopping ended. And the prices...yikes.
Don't laugh...I shrieked out loud when I read your blog this morning! Oh goodness...the chance to share in the 435 love?!? Thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you a million times over!
Posted by: Ana | June 29, 2009 at 06:37 AM
Denise-you have to be one of the most caring people ever! To try to make it available for everyone. Hope you had a wonderful day with your family and were able to celebrate.
I'm going to have to have a HUGE garage sale so I could put a BIG fat payment on that card of mine so I could buy MORE MJ!!!! :)
Posted by: christine | June 29, 2009 at 05:47 AM
I'm so HAPPY to hear there is a possibility of a chance to buy some 435 items for us West Coast MJ Fans. I think it is so nice that you keep your beautiful clothes affordable even though you could probably get a lot more for them. You are so SWEET!!! There are things I have seen from the 435 Art Fair that I love but I refuse to pay a ridiculous amount for them. It all works out in the end...

Happy BD, Denise & David! You both totally rock!! My daughter's 7th BD party was today (her actual BD was last week) ... with a dozen or so 2nd-graders-to-be ... oh my gosh, it was sooo much fun!!! Of course, she picked out her Fiona Loves Pink peasant top & Goldie Ruffles to wear & got one compliment after another ... happens every time :-).

Happy Birthday
&
Happy Anniversary
To you both! :)
Enjoy........

WOW- 435 was amazing! Thanks to the whole gang for going above and beyond (way beyond!) I spent entirely too much money and have more stuff than can fit in my daughter's closet! If anyone is interested in purchasing some of my extra size 4 items (and a couple of accidental size 2s and 6s) then give me a buzz via email. It might just save me from divorce court! No jacking up the price- just enough to cover sales tax and shipping to you.
Posted by: Lauren Jacobs | June 29, 2009 at 12:08 AM
Wait - could it be the one you want - The Smoker? The huge one?
Posted by: tracy s | June 28, 2009 at 11:52 PM
I think you now own that sweet seventies painting - or the one you love in the restaurant! I hope so. You so deserve it!
Posted by: tracy s | June 28, 2009 at 11:47 PM
OKAY...IS PLATINUM THE NAME OF YOUR PAINTING??!! I really hope it's also something David is buying you LOL but was wondering...hmmmm.... I checked out Anne's site and didn't see any with that name...so show us the painting girl!
Also, I LOVE the new sign...so cool but would we expect anything but? ;)
Posted by: MY4LOVES | June 28, 2009 at 11:34 PM
Happy Day of your Birth!!! and yes...you really are that cool. Uncool people could not make the cool clothes you do...just NOT possible.

Thanks for sharing the pictures - I know everyone had a blast! If you ever come to the east coast I will be there!! How about a NYC show? Or Philly? You can drop the boys over to my pool while you set up. :)
So hmmm ... maybe we'll be buying online again, huh? That is so exciting and at the same time makes me think UH OH because my wallet is still hurting from the last online art fair! But bring it on!!

Denise, I continue to be impressed with how sincerely warm and caring you have been with your customers :)
I am so happy to hear that you may be offering something for those who could not attend. I have been tempted to click "buy it now" since the first listing started 1 hour BEFORE the 435 shopping even opened! It's nice to know that you would consider doing this for us!
Happy belated birthday to you and David!
