Population One

Wow, this is the weirdest thing ever. And I am so proud to say after neither Michelle nor Cathy could help me out I pulled through. It may not look its best but this is so not my normal blog that I feel some frustrations.  Hang tough, that’s all I gotta do.

Did Lyra do an amazing job or what? And it is so funny how I met her.  Cristy emails me and says “You have to use Lyra for your Sparkletown collection. You have to. She is a genius.”  I’m not quite sure when Cristy became my boss or Lyra’s agent but I trust her.  Afterall, she makes Gabe’s day everyday with her great shirts, she has phenomenal taste....just read her blog. And when I need a gift she knows the place, oh and not to mention when I told her of my new found love, LuluLemon, she had already heard of it.  She could recite their catalog piece by piece.  So of course, I followed her lead and hooked up with Lyra. And could I be any happier? Nope.

Well, I will continue to play with this new toy of mine and see what I can do. It’s hard keeping up with the Jones’s.  Oh and hey, PhOTo LoVe dresses will be going out this week. If you have not already emailed Sara at saras@matildajaneclothing.com please do so ASAP.

 

Lately I can't get enough of Cristy's girls. they are so dang gorgeous.  Awe man, Cristy you are so in trouble. I had my contest all set up and it looks like there is no more little Beast on your site.. Nice..real nice. We can talk about this in private!!!

Okay, I got it. Cristy made me some super cute ______ ______ for Gabe's class party. Can you tell me what the item is and what it read?   I'll pick 2 random correct comments. One will get the scarf and one will get the legging in your size choice (2-12). 

And they are pretty dang cute. With a huge THANK YOU to Cristy for these great pieces. Oh, did you know, the girls of the real Sparkletown got these same items last year as their Christmas gifts? 

Yes, Sparkletown is really a place and above is the grand entry to such.  My dear friend lives here with her 3 fantastic kids and one big poodle.  I'm telling you the girl has the best taste in the planet. I so try to be her but she sets a pretty high bar.

You guys recognize this little girl? Yup, she might be the princess of Sparkletown.

Joe surely thinks she's pretty cool. We got to hang out there for a bit today. David stayed at work late, he is still there, and me, I've almost lost my mind. Do you realize how hard it is to be a 2nd grader. I certainly do not remember doing lots of homework  nor any homework at all in 2nd grade. 

But hey, when you are brilliant like Miss Lulu homework is a cinch. She obviously does it by the look of her award!!

Gabe got his costume today and that would be my excuse for the lack of  "other pics". Tomorrow is your day! Ha and if you are lucky you'll get a costume too...

The Real Sparkletown

Cuz I know you all want to see it, I'll see what I can do. I gotta tell you first about Sparkletown. It really is a place.  It is about 1/2 a mile from my house where a cute little family lives. Oh man, if I can talk Linda into letting me take a few pics I would freak to show you Sparkletown.  This is what they named their house. And all it takes is one look at the front _ _ _ _   _ _ _ _ and you'd know why.  And when you guess the  blank blank I will give you your own bit of Sparkletown.

Wow, now all I can do is think about going to Linda's to take pictures. I am so gonna text her as soon as I finish up this post. 

I'm gonna show you Sparkletown tomorrow but in the meantime I want you to see how it relates to Gypsy Blue. That is the best part and it has taken me some time to "get it". I am such a "piece" person instead of an "outfit" person. I am slowly learning to try to make collections that coordinate with each other. Afterall, when the sweetie is like "come on honey, do you really need another dress?"  You can just say "Ya, cuz it matches all the stuff I already have."

And I am not sure what I love more, Lyra or these Aprons? Lyra took all the photos for us and  totally amazed us. Thank you.  the aprons? well, I do believe they could belong to you when you host a show in December. Ask your TK for details cuz she always knows more than I, or at least she remembers more than I. And that is why I love those ladies. They juggle families, grocery shopping, a zillion phone calls and still they remember all the little details. Love ya.

Now I will let you figure out the blank blank. We'll take the first 3. by the way, yes we are still working on the Hoedown. Is that how you spell it? It looks so weird.

Flash Gordon

It really is an ugly day out. the prefect day to sleep and ya, eat.  David ran to the store, Joe needs some alone time (Gabe is driving him crazy) and me and Gabe? Well, he is my test subject. My neighbor let me borrow her flash.  The only thing I remember is how to turn it on.  I think the above pic turned out pretty good. Well, great if you look below at what it started as.

and it is great because I got it before Gabe turned in to the Beast. He is so funny.

Oh and you do know Joe is so gonna learn the Hannah Montana hoedown. Actually, I might as well. It is so addicting. Annoying but addicting.

Hannah Montana

K, Joe and I are all cuddled up watching Hannah Montana. Yes, Hannah Montana. Any movie with singing and dancing is sure to be a hit....he so needs to watch Annie. Ya, so we are cuddled up and I have a laptop on may lap, hence the word lap and the word LAME. So this is a quick post.

Tuesday night? Well, Tuesday night is Camera Club Night with my 3 gals (Jenni, Jillian and Sarah). It is pretty fun, the most fun actually just being getting out of the house with no kids.  So my winners are  Carey Love, Horrible at picture taking!, and Can't Wait for Holiday, and JodiR, okay and Jenni Vorderman. Yes, Jenni you are in the club but you have no MJC and you won't take any so now you won it!!! and helped some other gals win it too...email sam at samm@matildajaneclothing.com with your size and address.

Those comments were hilarious and I am beginning to think maybe I'm not the only dork in town. Love it. And my gosh, what is up with the profile names, you guys are a riot....okay I gotta get cuddling with Joe.

You guys are a riot. I loved your comments. And I love knowing that my kids are not the only ones who will not stay in bed. Though tonite, I told Gabe he had to stay in bed or I was gonna shut his door. He surely stayed in his room. Yup, he stayed in there all while screaming "you are mean to me, you always make me stay in bed, why you like Joe and not me?" ya, just about everything that he could say to make me sad.  What happened to the " You are cute, mom."?

I got these sweet pics in my email today...but now that I posted them I really think I may know these girls. I do believe they are Indiana girls, correct?

So I have been playing around taking pictures and have come to the conclusion it is REALLY hard.  But man, is it fun. And you want to know what a dork I am? Well on Tuesday night we actually have..........ha, I'll let you guess. (I'll take the first correct comment) It's fun though. There's 4 of us, so I guess I am not the only dork. Ya, look at Gabe...he's pretty goofy himself, huh?

And Cristy, I will have you know it was a HUGE all out battle for him to wear this shirt. He tried on 4 shirts prior and insisted he did not look good. He put this on and Pure Love.  And what about Miss Betty, pretty darn cute, huh? Her name is Elizabeth but I think Betty is pretty cute. Really how many 4 year old Betty's do you know?

A few VeRy Important Things

I was walking tonite and thinking. Yes, I can do both. I was thinking about this morning and me yelling (okay, raising my voice) at Gabe to roll up his window. Not only was it 40 degrees but the noise is annoying. I dropped him off, did carpool and headed to the gym totally forgetting the noise of the wind. I had a few minutes to spare and ran through the car wash.  I got through to the rinse part when I realized Gabe's window was not open. Yes, it was my sunroof instead.  It was just an inch or so but more than enough to totally soak me and the front seat. I pulled a bunch of books out of the back and propped myself up till I got home. No, I never made it to the gym. Though I had never laughed so hard at myself all by myself,

I made a bunch of those magic bar thingies last night, You know the graham cracker, chocolate chip and coconut thingies? David and I practiced self control and did not eat a single one.  Well, okay until the the March of the Stairs began. I'm telling you, do not, whatever you do, do not march down your stairs once you have called it a night. Cuz chances are the kitchen is calling you. 

Now see, I have learned 2 very valuable lessons today. The one I still need to learn is how to keep Gabe in bed. And I have tried it all, I am very stern and I have total will power (except the kitchen thing). The kid just will not stay in bed. We not only do the bunny kiss, but the cheek kiss, eyelash kiss, chin kiss, ear kiss, forehead kiss, eyebrow kiss, head kiss and of course the neck.  What more can one ask for? Snack and a book are a given. hmm...maybe I need to go back to the baby days when I tucked him in, read a a book, kissed his little face and said goodnight. And the screaming did not get a response? But he is so darn cute....

Oh and you see who else is cute? No, I am not talking about all these cute girlies...they are gorgeous. I am talking about my little elephant.  I really like him and thanks to Kayla he is now mine. But I am not sure if I love him.  Maybe we'll let him hang out for a while and see if it's a mutual thing.

Now you ladies have a good night and oh, the Lakers won both nights. We'll talk about this on a later date.  I'm having a hard time with my new camera and I'm a bit frustrated. I normally walk away from a game with 20-30 great shots when I used my rebel..I got the 5d and I walked away with 4-5. I'm sure it is all in the hands of the user and i need some practice but still I am frustrated.

UPDATE: it has been about an hour and I just heard a whimpering at the top of the stairs. I walk up, there's my Beast. I tell him he can lay in my bed. He replies "That's just what I want".  After a quick hug, he says "Mommy you're so cute." Yup and that's all I wanted!

A parallel Love

Okay, you get 2 cute pics tonite. I sat down to blog, ready to write something genius and all I can here is Gabe saying, "Mommy, mommy I need you." I have only been up there 3x and for real I have about lost my patience. Plus I am getting way too old to be walking up and down those stairs. Old or lazy, I guess. Now Joe is firmly telling Gabe " You need to go to bed NOW."

I'm listening to 60 minutes. If I have it correct, she said last year there were only 7 reported cases of the flu and this year there are 5000. I have to wonder is it because people hate going to the doctor so they don't go (ie unreported) but this year swine flu talk is everywhere and people are freaked so much they are going to the Dr, hence the increase in reports. Or I could just be over analyzing or I could just be dumb.

Wow, I just remembered the TV show Everwood...did you watch that? The widowed Dr. up in Colorado (I think). I think the son's name was Efrim..or something... but I thought he was real cute. It was on about 2 years ago. Loved that show. I really loved that show.

Okay, I really gotta go check on him cuz I am sure it is an emergency like my toe itches, my belly hurts, I'm hungry or maybe even "I think I hear something". It is amazing how I'm psychic like that huh?

I am seriously behind on blogging. I've got about 5 or 6 real good excuses that range from being sick to working to just not having much on my mind! Ya, none of which are truely exciting.

And even a tad but more boring is a post without a pic. I'm blogging via phone abd I'm sure you can upload a pic but no clue here.

We got Sparkletown samples the other day. All I can say about that is pure love. There's one certain dress that I am crazy over. I'm not gonna name it cuz I want to see if you'll feel the love too

in the meantime, we are up north. We left the Beast at my moms and came up to our first hockey games if the season. And can u believe I snapped like only 10 shots. My finger just didn't feel like clicken. Oh and and if you couldve seen Joe smiling. He got to go in the locker rooom. He talked about it till he fell asleep. The coolest thing he said was little

And now I must get up and get ready. Were gonna take some pics of Joe and Isabella. We bought some land up here years ago. I think well go try to find it. I remember it was but a sweet ol' farm which will be a perfect setting for my shots. Wish me luck cuz last time we got way lost.
